Christmas is coming and if you listen closely enough, you’ll hear the sleigh bells ringing and champagne corks popping as the end of year festivities begin. But before you get your tinsel in a tangle in the Christmas rush, we’ve gathered Christmas recipes, gift ideas and festive fun from the Wine & Dine’m team to help you have a stress free Christmas.
It’s the season for feasting and home baked treats and our Executive Chef Lincoln’s wife will be whipping up their favourite Gingerbread cheesecake recipe. This Martha Stewart classic is a Christmas tradition in the Hoole household. It is so good it’s criminal!
Not sure what to get someone special in your life? Why not give them the gift of Champagne with tickets to Baedeker’s Champagne Sundays? Or if you’re looking to DIY your gifts, our Event Manager Sheree has an awesome orange and lavender sugar scrub recipe.
Simply mix:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup of coconut oil
- a few drops of lavender and orange essential oils
Add to a mason jar with some ribbon or twine around the neck and you’re done
It’s been our most popular cocktail of the year and for very good reason. Relax this Christmas with our Front of House Manager David’s Blossom Martini featuring the delicious Ink Gin that’s taking the world by storm.
To make:
- Pour 45ml of Ink Gin over ice
- Add 45ml fresh lychee juice
- Add 10ml elderflower syrup
- Add 10ml lime juice
- Add lime peel
- Stir and top with soda
This fruity cocktail is perfect for a summer BBQ or afternoon by the pool.
What makes the Christmas season special is how you spend it and the team here at Wine & Dine’m Catering will be spending theirs taking a well-deserved break from the 24th of December until the 7th of January. Company Director Craig Fox will be spending his Christmas in New Zealand, visiting his family. Our Logistics Manager Sarah will be attending her best friends wedding on New Years Eve while our General Manager Ammie will be spending the holidays with her family. Our Sous Chef Gavin will be changing nappies and chasing sleep as he becomes a dad for the first time and our Event Manager Nick will be kicking off his ten year long service leave by visiting his family in Cairns before returning to work on his charity The Mini Farm Project.
