Let us introduce you to Ash, our super planned and creative Wedding & Event Manager. Find out what it takes to create stunning events, and have the big questions answered like – cat or dog lover?
Early bird or night owl?
Night owl. It makes those times I get up to watch the sunrise that little bit more spectacular.
Tea or coffee?
TEA!!!! Green tea in the morning and lemon and ginger at night.
Cat or dog lover?
Ah this is where I sit on the fence. Can’t I have both?
I am a huge fan of the eclectic furniture, alternative breakfast menu and homely vibe I get from Willow and Spoon in Wilston.
Weddings are very much a personal statement and I am passionate about ensuring that statement flows through every aspect of a wedding, including the food and beverage.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I get inspiration from a couples backstory, their unique love story. How did they meet? Did they fall in love over many great glasses of wine, or do they enjoy trying new cheeses on a picnic blanket in the park? Maybe their relationship grew over their mutual love of brunch, or was it when she bought him a craft beer in Newstead one Friday night?
Each couple has a story that is truly gorgeous, quirky, funny and romantic – just like the couples.
What is your favourite wedding style/look/trend at the moment?
Feasts! An abundance of fresh, aromatic, seasonal food served straight to the middle of all your tables. Think wagyu rumps, whole steamed fish and legs of lamb laid out for your guests to share. They can help themselves to hot sides like duck fat roasted kipfler potatoes and maple roasted pumpkin wedges while they laugh and mingle with others. It’s the social way to have a sit down reception while creating a real sense of family and sharing.
The most amazing wedding you have been involved in?
A few years back, I had the pleasure of helping to create a wedding on acreage in Beaudesert overlooking the property dam and mini vineyard. Set on a grassy space with nothing between the guests and the stars we served a bespoke feast to an amazing crowd. With a bonfire blazing in the background, the farm-garden styled wedding for 120 was incredibly picturesque. The sparkling night sky is a hard backdrop to beat.
