Meet Peter Kulcar, Wine & Dine’m Co-Executive Chef (Culinary)
Chef Pete has spent more than three decades honing his gastronomical skills and his inspiration around the world.
Pete has worked for the likes of F1 Formula 1 Grand Prix, Emirates airlines, as well as a private chef on yachts in the Mediterranean, before moving with his wife to Australia and working for a leading catering company in Sydney. We were fortunate to welcome Peter, and his wife and daughter, to our Wine & Dine’m family earlier this year.
Pete has hit the ground running by taking charge of our fine dining and bespoke menus and incorporated his own style into our menu creation and plating designs.
We look forward to being part of his culinary story at the Wine & Dine’m and share a little bit more about Pete below.
What is your role at Wine & Dine’m
As Co-Executive Chef, I work alongside Cassie Hopkinson and focus on menu creation and plating design for bespoke and fine dining onsite catering. This involves keeping the team and our menus updated with current and modern trends.
What do you enjoy most about being a chef?
Travelling and exploring new countries and how it allows you to try all the different cuisines and make great friends along the way. I am also passionate about learning new food technologies and staying on top of industry trends, including smoking meats and vegetables!
Favourite style of food and beverage of choice?
Mediterranean and Asian fusion, and ICE COLD beer.
BEST EVENT YOU’VE ATTENDED AND WHY?
That’s a hard one, working the F1 and travelling the circuit with them, the Champions League final also as I’m mad keen about sports.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT WINE & DINE’M THAT YOU THINK SETS THEM APART?
I agree exactly with Chef Cass as outlined here. As an industry leader, Wine &Dine’m strives to be the best by maintaining standards.
WHAT MENU ITEM IS CURRENTLY YOUR FAVOURITE?
All our smoked products. We have a fabulous new Boss BBQ Smoker and we are using it to create some unique and delicious items. Read more about it here.
WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE TIP FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO HIRE A CATERER FOR THEIR NEXT EVENT?
Haha! Call Wine n Dine’m, simple as that!
IS THERE A CHEF OUT THERE WHO INSPIRES YOU
Not so much now, however, I have admiration for chefs Marco Pierre White, a British chef, restaurateur, and television personality. He has been dubbed the first celebrity chef, who at age 32, became the first British chef, and at the time the youngest chef, to be awarded three Michelin stars. He has trained notable chefs Mario Batali, Gordon Ramsay, Curtis Stone and Shannon Bennett. And of course, no one compares with Anthony Boudain.
Recent event highlight
I enjoyed working on the launch of the Porsche Taycan where we served canapes and sit down dinner for 160 people earlier this year. It was unreal to be doing live events, especially when it involves fast cars, and getting to meet 9 x F1 winner Mark Webber. Check out the video here.
