Marquee weddings are the perfect option for couples wanting to create their ultimate wedding day from scratch. Despite the increased amount of planning and inevitable costs involved with hosting a wedding at home, there is something incredibly intimate about sharing this space with friends and family.
Earlier this year, Dimity married her best friend Matt in a romantic fresh and minimal marquee in her parent’s backyard. The layers of crisp whites worked so beautifully underneath the ceiling of romantic fairy lights, complemented by white dining chairs, table linens and cocktail furniture. Brisbane wedding planner and stylist Alysia Bridger completed the look with fresh white blooms and a hint of green or pastel hues to provide some contrast.
The romance of this soft and romantic marquee wedding was a 2021 highlight for Alysia Bridger, who said:

We sat down with Dimity recently to discuss their wedding catering highlights.
What were you looking for in an event caterer?
“We were looking for a caterer that supplied delicious, no-fuss food, with extensive experience at weddings. Keeping your guests full of delicious food and drinks is such an important part of the day and can really make or break the vibe.
Our wedding planner, Alysia Bridger recommended Wine & Dine’m. Alysia is incredible at planning weddings so we knew her recommendation would be great. Your team really nailed the brief. Oh, and having a dessert wall was also such a special feature which all of the guests loved!”
How did COVID affect your wedding plans?
“We, fortunately, didn’t have to move our date but we had about 20 close family and friends who were overseas and couldn’t come home, particularly my brother who lives in the UK and wasn’t able to get home after three cancelled flights. We put on a zoom video for the duration of the ceremony and reception for all of those guests that couldn’t be there.”

“Getting ready with my family and bridesmaids the night before and on the wedding day. Listening to Matt’s speech and hitting the dance floor with all our friends.”
