Sunset Sangria on the Runway, held on the 11th of November, saw 950 invited guests and VIP’s celebrating on the new runway at Brisbane Airport ahead of the official opening scheduled for mid to late 2020. Guests were shuttled in from the Convention Centre in an impressive fleet of buses before being greeted with a glass of sangria on arrival.
The event was held in association with the IATA Slot Conference held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The festival-inspired oasis planned by EventX was framed with white picket fencing by Event Rentals and a “Welcome to Brisbane” arch with florals by Bouquet Boutique. Inside the fencing, three bohemian inspired tipis from Tipi Luxe helped create the relaxed atmosphere for the afternoon along with assorted furniture by Brandition. A runway viewing platform by Staging Creations allowed the guests to get a prime view of the new runway while the string quartet Angel Strings kept guests entertained throughout the afternoon.
While the sangria flowed, a custom designed canape selection was on offer to the guests. The menu was designed with the Sunset Sangria concept in mind, combining both brilliant orange hues with flavours created to compliment the sangria.
MENU
Sunrise carrot mousse, Mexican spiced grains, cilantro fine leaf
Slow cooked lamb, citrus crumb pearl rice, mint julip
Chipotle chicken empanada, sweet corn puff, herb refreshment
Warm bug burrito, green chili salsa, pimento sauce
Congratulations to Brisbane Airport on the success of Sunset Sangria on the Runway.
