The Australian Superyacht Rendezvous returned this May and for the second year in a row we were delighted to help deliver five events across the three-day spectacular. Yachting enthusiasts and industry leaders gathered at the Gold Coast City Marina for a program filled with round table talks, exhibitions and yacht hopping experiences before the event wrapped up with a glamourous, by invitation only, VIP celebration. We were delighted to work once again with Event Producer Hardy+Ko to create a completely custom menu that captured the opulence of the Australian Superyacht Industry for the VIP gala that concluded the event.   

Crafting a menu for such an event required creativity and forward thinking. The process started in late November when Tash Hardy (Hardy+Ko) approached our Director Craig Fox and Executive Chef Lincoln Hoole to discuss the overarching Rainforest theme. From there, Lincoln and his team began the process of creating a menu that was distinctive yet illustrated restraint. His process involved sketching out his vision for each dish and storyboarding the menu from start to finish.

From his sketches, Lincoln and his team began experimenting with flavours and presentation. Each element was created with the rainforest theme in mind, including the serving ware.

Goats cheese parfait, rainforest plum jam, gingerbread biscotti served on a rainforest platter.

Complimentary to the food was the beverage offering. Benetti, one of the Platinum sponsors of the event, was the inspiration behind the Benetti Botanical Bar; an idea developed in discussions with Brookie’s Gin. A branding iron was specifically created to burn the Benetti logo onto orange peels for the signature Benetti Negroni cocktail that was served on the evening.

The VIP gala was an evening full of theatrics. Living lampshades with intricate hand painted body art provided luminous ambiance – a bright idea by Hardy+Ko. Maritime Cook Islands entertained with South Pacific dances and fire twirling, before the marina’s sky was lit up with fireworks.

The Australian Superyacht Rendezvous was truly a night of extravagance and one the entire team will not forget. See more images from the evening below.
