The Australian Superyacht Rendezvous returned this May. For the second year in a row we were delighted to help deliver five events across the three-day spectacular. During the event, Yachting enthusiasts and industry leaders gathered at the Gold Coast City Marina. The program included round table talks, exhibitions and yacht hopping experiences before the event wrapped up with a glamourous, by invitation only, VIP celebration.
We were delighted to work once again with Event Producer Tash Hardy from Hardy+Ko. With her assistance we created a custom menu capturing the opulence of the Superyacht Industry for the VIP gala event.
MENU CREATION
Crafting a menu for such an event required creativity and forward thinking. The process started in late November with Hardy+Ko approaching our team to discuss the overarching Rainforest theme. After the initial consult, our Executive Chef Lincoln and his team began the process of creating a distinctive menu. His process involved sketching out his vision for each dish and story boarding the menu from start to finish.
From his sketches, Lincoln and his team began experimenting with flavours and presentation. Furthermore each element was created with the rain forest theme in mind, including the serving ware.
BEVERAGE DEVELOPMENT
Complimentary to the food was the beverage offering. Benetti, one of the Platinum sponsors of the event, inspired the Benetti Botanical Bar. From discussions with Brookie’s Gin the Benetti Botanical Bar was developed. During the development stage our chef’s had a branding iron created with the Benetti logo. This was then used to burn the logo onto the orange peel for the signature Benetti Negroni cocktail.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Australian Superyacht Rendezvous VIP gala was an evening full of theatrics. For example, living lampshades with intricate hand painted body art provided luminous ambiance – a bright idea by Hardy+Ko. Meanwhile, Maritime Cook Islands entertained with South Pacific dances and fire twirling. Finally, the marina’s sky was lit up with fireworks.
The Australian Superyacht Rendezvous was truly a night of extravagance and one the entire team will not forget.
