Whether you’re hosting a large sit-down dinner or cocktail soiree, Acland Room can be transformed to suit your style. Acland Room is the largest function space on offer, hosting up to 150 pax.

3. Choose your menu
The key to hosting any milestone event, is providing your guests with a menu they won’t forget. 4. Match your wine
Now that you have your menu, it’s time to match your wines. We spoke to Baedeker’s in-house sommelier to get his tips on how to best match your wines.
- The season and weather play an important role in selecting the drinks for your event. For Autumn and Winter events, think aromatic Mulled Wine. In Spring and Summer guests are generally looking for something cold and crisp, so Pinot Grigio and a dry rosé from Cotes de Provence in France will fit the bill nicely. For a great all-rounder wine that suits most peoples tastes, look at blends such as GSM’s (Grenache, Mataro, Shiraz).
- Bubbles!! This can be always be a difficult choice, if you choose to serve Champagne at your event, look for a ‘Blanc de Blanc’. Blanc de Blanc means only white grapes have been used to make the wine. It is not as dry as ‘brut’ champagne or sparkling and is a lot more approachable and enjoyable to drink throughout an event.
Alternatively, why not arrange a complimentary wine tasting with their sommelier to help you select the perfect drop? Baedeker’s sommelier can also assist in supplying you with your favourite wines from your engagement party to your wedding.
