2019 has been quite the year for Wine & Dine’m Catering. With the festive season well and truly underway, it would be remiss of us not to acknowledge our loyal clients, venue partners and suppliers. Above all, we would like to thank you all for your continued support.
During our 20th year in business we welcomed two new venue partnerships with The Fortitude Music Hall and Brisbane Powerhouse. Furthermore we also launched the Baedeker Garden Bar and celebrated with our friends at Lightspace for their 10th birthday. Additionally this year Lightspace launched their newest venue Loyal Hope which we are proud to support.
In 2019 we continued to cater weddings, cocktail parties, birthdays, boardroom lunches and special events. In May we floated and feasted on super yachts at the Super Yacht Rendezvous at the Gold Coast City Marina, while November saw us deliver our first event on an airport runway.
Throughout the year we fed hungry Mt Cotton race car drivers and hosted corporate functions on CBD rooftops. We fashioned food for runway shows and catered to the whims of international musicians. In addition to this we helped launch new jewellery, clothing and prestige cars with premium beverages and custom canapes.
This year many of our wedding couples dined and grazed with us under clear roof marquees out on remote properties. Others celebrated in suburban back yards and in some of our more intimate and unique spaces.
We fried and battered fish and chips for 650 people in St John’s Cathedral to help raise funds for Hummingbird House. On a similar note, we heard ‘Tales from the Road’ in support of Youngcare at The Fortitude Music Hall.
2019 saw us receive several accolades from our industry peers and clients. For instance, we were recognised as being among the Nation’s Top 5 Caterers by Spice Magazine. Our brides and grooms voted us the Best Wedding Caterer in Queensland for the second year in the ABIA awards. Judges from the Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Association rated us the Best Corporate Caterer and the Best Event Caterer in Queensland. In October we attended the National HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence ceremony and were honoured to be recognised as National Events Caterer of the Year.
With the introduction of our new food stations menu we declared the demise of a long-time event staple as we debuted the F$%k Doughnuts Eat Cheese Wall at #WD20 in July. Meanwhile in 2019 our chefs continued to push the boundaries on innovation and creativity. They worked closer with more local food producers to embrace seasonality in our menus.
In 2020 we will be launching a new menu on our Express Catering Website. This new menu will help us to further support the great work of our friends at The Mini Farm Project. Now more than ever our focus is on stepping a little gentler through the world to reduce our environmental impact. Simultaneously, we are focusing on the wellness of our staff, engagement of our clients and future generations of hospitality staff.
