And so, another year is coming to a close and it’s that time of the year that I reflect on the journey that this year has been for us and ultimately our clients, partners and of course our staff. In 2022 we were excited for a return to business as usual and the year didn’t disappoint although it did have a few surprises in store for us. Weather, global issues, staffing shortages and economics made challenging times for supply chain and pricing, driving a renewed emphasis on innovation and adaptation.
Innovation is key to changing forces in the world so this year we innovated.
THE CHANGES
We changed our quoting process enabling faster turnaround for clients. Our logistics team welcomed a range of trolley dollies (not barbies) to the workplace streamlining our operations and upping our WHS procedures. Menus became more flexible to allow for last-minute supply issues, service training increased to address lower skill levels across available staffing. In office meetings and client entertaining returned with Express Catering and canapé shop delivering high quality catering to our corporate clients.
Thank you to our clients who embraced these changes so willingly! Now, over to some highlights!
HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR
Over the year we have as always delivered some incredible events, we launched new luxury cars, and celebrated the achievements of renowned Brisbane Jeweller Margot McKinney with a series of events at the Museum of Brisbane. Our team delivered the largest event we have had since pre-pandemic with the amazing teams from Uno Momento and MG Events.
- The Gold Coast airport opened a new terminal – Gold Coast Expansion
- We welcomed the Pleasuredome to our venue family as part of the wonderful Brisbane Powerhouse.
As always weddings were an important part of our year delivering the first wedding at Fortitude Music Hall with Aylsia Bridger, not to mention many spectacular offsite weddings at Lightspace and Loyal hope.

END OF YEAR
As the year draws to a close, our team was awarded the National Event Caterer of the year award by Restaurant and Catering Australia, humbling but also a reflection of the talent and perseverance of our amazing team. I remain grateful for our greater events community and their support, the support and trust of our clients to deliver events that are important to your businesses and of course, our tirelessly committed staff who are all a bit tired at this end of the year.
Our office will be closed from the 24th of December and reopen 3rd of January 2023. For any early-year catering requests, please contact our team prior to the closure.
From all of us at Wine & Dine’m, we wish you a safe, happy and joyous festive season.
Cheers,
Craig Fox
